Excalion : Once again SoundRiot has found a masterpiece!!!" Symphonic Power Metal " a talended young band from Finland that plays remarkably good. Their compositions are really well done and the singer is really good. Imagine Dimmu Borgir with a Heavy Metal and melodic voice! ( this is only for one track) You can also hear stuff like Europe, Angra, Iron Maiden, Requiem, Dio, Dream Theatre and all the melodic bands that use keyboards.For all the PowerMetal freaks!!!

Seraphim : Taiwan Power metal band , The singer is a female who has a classical voice which makes it easy to compare to Nightwish, but that's the only point as the music is pure Metal and even Thrash Metal!!! This is where Seraphim's originality is, they could be a Thrash or Heavy Metal band but with this voice that makes it change. We're used to bands like Within Temptation who uses Death Metal voices for the sad part, but here u have the Black Metal voice that appears from time to time which make a real change in the Metal field. This band looked for the originallity in Music and they managed to get it. Songs are well worked with the lyrics and the cover artwork is excellent. A good band that might surprise most people. Then it's just a question of taste.

Exodus :" Tempo of the damned " USA Thrash Metal band, when a band signs to Nuclear Blast we're always waiting for a fucking powerfull album that will blow our head. Well Exodus has decided to sign with the biggest European Metal label 'cos their last album is a bomb! Although their misfortune since they exist, this is the only Thrash Metal band sticking to their roots. We can only say "Bravo" to one of the first Thrash Metal band that created this style and sticked to it over the years cos they still know how to create Thrash Metal riffs!!! This album is a masterpiece and Exodus always evolved album after album to the best. I would set this album between the Strength of "Fabulous disaster" and the Groove of "Force of Habits", but what will conquer the new fans will defenitively be one of the last songs where Souza is having a Rob Flynn's voice (Machine Head " Burn My eyes" album).This is THEE album to buy this year!!! The originality, the power, the creation of the songs...once u play that album u will blow your head off the wall and jump like mad! For the die hard fans few different copies exist! one with the flame logo (pictured) a Korean digipack with one demo and one ACDC cover and a red LP! Get that before it desappear!!!

Kreator: "Enemy of God" The brand new album of those Thrash Metal maniacs from Germany who have left the thrash scene for quite a bit, are back with an excellent album!!! Many talked about their last effort "Violent Revolution" as a come back but it wasn't and desappointed many. This is definitively the one that will reconquer the Thrashers!!! This is a come back to the last good album "Coma of Soul" with plenty of good old Kreator riffs from "Extreme Agression" as "Coma..". Forget those years and imagine that "Enemy.." is the successor of "Coma .." this is pure Kreator agression and speed, it's all there!!! It's a pleasure to listen to them again!!!

Assassin : "The Club" , This crazy German Thrash Metal band is back with a powerfull new album. This is madness at its best! An anthology of Thrash Metal. From Exodus to Holy Moses to Sacred Reich...Thrash Metal riffs are exploding your face, this is loud, and really mad as hell for all Thrashers around the world get that masterpiece now! This album could have been called " Madness, Anger, Fucker" Thrashing assault right in your face.

Holy Moses : "Strength, Power, will, Passion" Sabina's back with a new album!!! This great Thrash Metal band hailing from Germany has managed to get another great album!!! You will hear the agressivity and anger that Holy Moses has always gave into the lyrics and the music, a mix of Sabina's classics that make her beeing Holy Moses forever and noone can copy! The album title resume it all!!! She's still there and made Thrash Metal staying alive!!! Thanks Sab ;)

Espada Negra : Brazilian Black Death Thrash Heavy Doom Metal band. A big receipe of Metal, take a bit of Dimmu Borgir, a bit of Slayer, a bit of Sepultura, a bit of Obituary, a bit of Manowar, some bit of non Metal music like Industrial, Hard Core, New Wave, pop... One song reminds me the English band As She Screams, some songs have synchronization problems with the drum (machine?!), they don't seem to be very good for solos as they are out of tune. Most of the songs have no solos which are better. The good point of this band is the powerfull Heavy sound that drives the songs, but they need to practice much before giving their songs to get heard.

Crucified Barbara : Swedish Heavy Metal band, this new female band is one revelation!!! Since Heavy Metal girl bands have all desappeared and some got back together, it was time for a fresh new band to remind us MALES that FEMALES can destroy your brain easilly with their powerfull songs and riffs. Let's say it's a band that we all wish they'll stick longer than two albums...Lets get to the music, for the old Metallers like me i would make a comparison like that "when Girschool & Rock Goddess meet Drain STH & Phantom Blue" ...ok this is just an image and i hope it has all of you got your tongue down! Actually we can describe their music with much details, their rythms are quite Thrashy like Phantom blues' built to perform 2nd album, Drain STH '1st album and Machine Head '2nd album. So it's Heavy and ...Heavy!!! Of course the band's name, girls look...etc.. will make u think of Rock Goddess, and the runaways but musically it has more gutts! The lyrics are full of fun and reality and the album beeing only 32mins long u can't stop pressing the "repeat" button on your CD player. Those girls will show u once again they can play very well and better than men! (I've always said that - i'm a female band fan!!!) One of the song makes me think of WASP's motherfukin' man on The Headless children's album, they rock they sweat, they are gorgeous and they will kick u down! Honey for Christ :" The darkest pinnacle of light" Third masterpiece for this pearl of underground Heavy Metal ! Powerfull, intense, emotional this album is excellent! This is one Rare band to have their own style, and after so many years there are still inovating while still keeping their original style. I never said enough times but this is one of my favorite band and I really enjoy listening to their original compositions. They have powerfull rythms that sounds Thrash and sometimes Death but they play pure Heavy Metal, it's impossible to put them into a special category nor to give an example of which famous band they sound like, this is all their power! A real heavy Metal band straight from the underground with a unique sound!!! Decadence : Swedish Melodic Thrash / Death Metal band fronted by a beauty. 'The grey" album is their first masterpiece, this band is really unique and very original. The melodies just bring you to a different level of the styles, Kitty 's voice is catching your soul and you can't stop listening to this band until it has ended!!! It is such a good feeling and great compositions that you will press play again and again! I normally don't like to search for any ressemblances in the music I love cos for me a good band is one that you can hear without recognizing the influences and this is why I love this band, I just relax and listen!!! For those who 'd like to know what it might sounds like... well after many hours of forcing myself listening every bits I can say they have many influences from Thrash Metal like early Holy Moses, Slayer, Kreator,Testament, Forbidden, Dark Angel and a bit of Death Metal like Morbid Angel and Massacre. I think I've heard a bit of within Temptation's riff but they have certainly Gothic influences for the melodies too!!! The most important is this is a great band!!!

"The creature" 2005 (the red album) is definitively different but it's only about the production cos this band has a unique sound and creations and so they stick to Decadence!!! pretty rare for a young band, another thing that makes me love them! So this one is more Death Metal but still Thrashy with melodies. The influences here are more like Death, Paradise Lost and a bit of Dimmu Borgir for one riff...<"3rd stage of decay " 2006 (the green album) Back to Thrash Metal : Kreator, Coroner ...with still a Death touch, there is a small change in the creations some singing and riffs more into the 80's Hardcore Mucky Pup & Mosh touch kinda Anthrax, Mod or Nuclear Assault. Well you will understand why I voted this band Best Band for 2006!!! They have a brilliant futur!!! I just love this band and you will love them too so get their albums now!!! www.decadence.se

Hydrogyn : "Bombshell" 2006 USA Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band fronted by a Woman with lot of conversation...When I first saw this cover I really didn't want to hear the music, the first listen I just didn't like it cos I was thinking of this picture saying "buy me cos I'm a good chick" but before reviewing this album I decided to really listen to it with full power and I can say I love it!!! A pure old Heavy metal album back in the eighties!!! the singer has a real voice and some of the songs are already classics "the book of names" etc... This band goes between Femme Fatale, Phantom Blue, Lita Ford, Doro Pesh, Lee Arron , Meldrum... they cover ACDC Back in Black and she's brilliant on that cos she pushes her voice and sounds like Doro! They have also lots of male inspiration like Motley Crue, Skid Row, Bon Jovi ...I've heard also a small part from Iced Earth "horror show" & Skew Siskin 's first album as a Rock influence from Annalana Myles "Blue Velvet" and many others... A band to follow!!!

Avenged Sevenfold : "City of Evil" USA Commercial Teenage music. This band is a FAKE Heavy Metal band!!! First the cover is just a bad copy of Iced earth album cover, secondly it is full commercial shit the kind you hear on radio! The beginning of the song and you already heard it and know the end! Thirstly it stick into your mind like a nightmare, Fourthly they have long and boring solos without sense like in boring sell out PowerMetal bands...Fithly the singer is like singing with his nose very anoying and a pain to my ears, kinda Offspring or Grind day... a real shit on every sides! Ban this band from Metal cos it is not Heavy Metal but radio teenage sell out shit! voted the worst band of the year 2006!!!

Vicious Rumours : "Warball" USA PowerMetal. I saw on their site they have made lots of albums in which Marty Friedman and some other great musicians have played in. So if like me you didn't know then we learnt a new thing. But thanks to my friend there was an old song on an 80's compilation and so sometimes we don't follow a band and a decade later they are still there!!! here I compare this album in a mix of Eidolon and Mercyful Fate. Basically it says it all!!! A very high voice and a rower one with good Thrashy rythms. A good album! you should get that album if you like those bands!

No Return : self titled. Death Metal band from France. After many line up changes this band keep amazing me! Saw them live recently and so I took a big slap in the head! Only one member is left but they gained into great musicians and the new guitarist is amazing! as for the new singer too! This is pure old Death Metal with inspiraton from Morbid Angel or Immolation, Unleashed...Laurent the last former member is a brilliant guitarist and is making the melodies that makes this album a great listen. For all the maniacs who love Death Metal!

Sodom :Self titled . This new album is pretty desappointing which is sad to say, but the begining although the mix is good sounds much like a late slayer album. Only Tom has still his voice that tell us its SODOM. It has a bit of the "Taping the Vein" 's feel. The cover artwork is excellent but the music is like searching its way for originallity but doesn't find it. A shame but I think Tom's different project change he's music direction and you can hear in the third track which is a rock'n roll stuff with just a Metal voice.

Meldrum :"Loaded live" DVD. Home made DVDR i had trouble to read completely in my computer... I managed to see it fully in my special TV DVD player that reads most of formats! (computers are great but too many video compression exist and it's never possible to watch what you want) So after I managed to watch this DVD I was a bit desappointed cos there is no menu although it seems they try to create one as there is a square in the left corner that you press to read the video. So without menu you HAVE to watch it completely to the end every time you want to watch it so if for any reason you must stop it then you start over again. This is not a wrong point completely cos this is definitively an excellent show!!! Thank you girls! A pleasure for the eyes and for the ears!!! I have discovered another band threw this DVD cos I haven't recognized any of the songs that are on the album...I saw here a very Heavy Metal band that kicks ass when in the album there are more like cool and soft songs. I guess they wanted to impress us and they managed cos it's a kick in your face! (but is it another album not pressed yet? I'd like to know...) It's a worth buy!!! just need to press it as a real DVD!

Kreator :"Enemy of god Revisited" DVD Digipack. Now this is what I call a DVD!!! Since Kreator is back to real Thrash Metal everything goes very well for them and they seem to have the best record labels each time they release something!!! This package is so beautiful that we 'd like to have more of them in our collection. I'm not a DVD fan nor a CD fan cos they mostly have a plastic box with nothing inside or twice the same photo. Here you have a brilliant digipack that has a little booklet and opens with one DVD and a CD on each side. Thus the price very cheap compare to a normal DVD!!! SO if there is a gift to offer for Xmas this is the DVD ! I must thank my friend Thrash-Vier for offering me this great pieace of collection. So inside a full complete Wacken show!!! that's what I'd like to have for every band that have performed there. A brilliant show that gives me the wish to see Kreator live again when I've been desappointed when I saw them in the Uk for their come back with the album not so good Violent revolution but here they are kicking ass and Mille is awake from his long cold passage through gothic...well he's back and nomore things about this! Kreator is the actual Thrash Metal act that seems to get the most popularity these days and they really do what it takes. In this DVD you can find a new way of learning the song, special lyrics videos a bit special but you can listen and read the lyrics in front of the computer or the TV a good imagination for the people who created this DVD and it is a reference for creation in this field, I guess the DVD and video format are going to change quickly and Kreator seem to be the first to make the move to that change!!! so congratulation. Few Video clips to keep you thirsty with the making of for the Enemy of God video a very good one actually! No really people Kreator is really back and for good! For the one who critizise the fact there is the album "Enemy of god " remastered with two live tracks then it's not necessary cos you don't have the booklet nor the cover just the CD so I think it's not fair to blam them for that! I guess they really wanted to give the most of them and they have already done it with this brilliant package. Love it!!!!
