Here is where you can read all of the reviews I write about the music I hear, this is pretty red and it hurts! what you will read is pretty harsh and straight , you must understand that I review with a certain coldness, yeah I know some people take it too seriously but nothing is perfect and not everbody good either. Also we don't have all the same taste nor the same way to hear things, making hard comment should push bands to see they can do more and better even if sometimes there is no way they will work harder as they have too much work but don't realise... just read this with the idea that it is a critic and not a law. I am honest and if I hate a band you will see it and if I love a band you will definetively see it too, but this is done to get an image of a band from their past or their way of playing music and also for the people who has never heard from them. Of course I judge everything from the sound... etc so it 's hard , it's Heavy. it's Metal!

 | Furnaze : "Laim Brain Society " A brilliant CD full of old School Thrash Metal songs! These guys hailing from Germany are kicking hard and should for sure getting heard quickly and get a deal with a good mix to bring them on the top of new comers, if you like real Thrash such as Metal Church, Testament, Sacred Reich, Exodus.... this is for you! | Arcana XXII : Self titled demo, hailing from Namibia this Metal band could be a revelation. When I have heard the first track " Ramses" I felt on my ass, this track is a pure Heavy Metal song and with a professional mix bringing them to the highest step of the Undergorund bands. Unfortunetly my pleasure got down to the desolusion when I heard the two other tracks, this is the kind of band who has many musical tastes and try to mix them into their music. The second track "Breathing in me" is a Gothic like song and very bad mixed and played! (what a shame) The kind of song you don't play to anybody such it needs a lot of work to be done, the third song is a bit Thrashy but here again the band try to input different elements from other musical styles and you have a woman voice that you can hear in the first track but just talking like you find into Gothic and Black Metal bands, the mix is not and it is a rough demo but still better track than the second one and if we have to remember something from this band and maybe give them an answer: they can be an excellent Heavy Metal band and get a big recognition but certainly not playing Gothic in which they can't fit at all!!! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Moratorium: "Stripped of all Sacred" UK. This is the following to the review on the top. this time the album is done and everything is layed down. From the cover to the music. This is still a Demo CDR with laser copies.It looks like an album so maybe it will be pressed professionnally but we can say that the result of the thing is well done and a big work for this one man band. Musically it is more compressed or MIxed so the sound is less messy than the 1st CD. we can hear the music and the construction of the songs is well done, in the overall this is a good job. But vocally it is more into screams and sometimes growls, but I would categorise Moratorium as a Cradle of filth copy and so to be classed as a Black Metal album. Much keyboard and changes in the voice . What we can say is that it is really an Underground Metal musician as we can hear he's influences into the UK metal scene such as Infestation, Ackerkoke, Liguature...I think that UK scene in general doesn't evolve and turn in circle copying each others and stuck into the English London scene.  | Fury: "Slavekind" This brilliant Thrash Metal band hailling from Australia is back with a full promising album and showing again how good they are, the design for the cover is execellent and so the music. Power is the best word to describe what you will get in your ears. This band shows that we always get better and can kick ass. When you'll play this CD let know your neighbourood as it will blow your speakers off the wall!!! Stop buying the known bands that give the same albums every years, buy this underground Metal album and support this band to become the new revelation!!! Great riffs, great songs, powerfull voice... influences from Slayer, Vio-lence, Sepultura and as always Testament. Of course this is just to give you a rough idea , the sound is even better than Machine Heads first album and you'll get what Fury can do and they do it very well.  | RAM : Heavy Metal band straight from SWeden, I love to review an underground bands's first CD not even out yet as they are looking for a label. WE have 6 tracks of pure Heavy Metal, a real dedication to the music that has made ours youth.Pretty amazing band, this is for me a real pleasure to hear that a band these days still know how to make real METAL. I revive!!! The first track "Sudden Impact " is well chosen as it will takes you straight into this great adventure that some might have forgotten, you have the impression to listen to Judas Priest Turbo album, but this is better as this band is really creating and you hear the influences but this is noway a copy, this is pure Heavy Metal in your face with the recipe of our favorite bands. Where this first track is most amazing and keeps you 'till the end is the singer±!±± I mean this guy is one of the few to change is vocal chords so much! Imagine listening to a Judas Priest best of from their beginning to the turbo album. THis singer just on this first track is kicking your ass with a panel of the voices from mister Rob Halford!!! yeap this is right he can change is voice from the younger to the older Rob Halford's voice. But this is not finished! The track regroup also voices from King Diamond... This is just the first track!!! All along this EP you can hear Iron Maiden, Dokken, Annihilator, Danger Danger, Bad English, Bonfire and many others you can imagine!!! Influences from the biggest of the eighties and also with a new sound from the nineties, and most a singer who's voice is on the edge of Power Metal sometimes such his getting high pitch!!! This is THE album that you should all Heavy Metal maniacs have in your collection, definitively a band that will make a big WAHOO in the Metal scene.  | Gaia Epicus : "Satrap" Power Metal band from Norway, this band is amazing by its originallity. It will please many real Metal fans, the begining of the CD is more into Thrash Metal must inspired by Helloween 's "Judas" album mixed with some Metallica " Kill'em all" rythms played very fast!!! Speed is the real defination of this band's style. The Power Metal is due of course by the keyboards, that finally plays a small part from this excellent music. This album will take you to your heart and you'll get to hear an origianl band! That's pretty hard to find these days but they manage to give us an album that kicks ass and even though you can catch the inspiration it's still great to listen to cos you have difficulties to find a ressemblance with another band such it is well done, a creative band for sure. A beautiful mix of Metal styles played with originallity. The voice is sometimes similar to Klaus Maine from Scorpion and the second song sounds like a tipical Scorpion song played extremely fast, I just can give much respect to the singer who has lot of work to sing and play as he does, a big surprise really. At the end they have an instrumental track that mix Progressive Metal and technics really interesting one, we can hear that they have the passion and love for this music and creation. We can only wish them to keep their name and make it big in the Metal scene because they deserve it really much, I love this album and many will do!!! Buy it now!!!  | Shadow Season : "Frozen" Norway & Ireland Dark metal band. This is a band that regroup most known musicians from the Black Metal scene who wished to have another band in the scene so there is not much surprise about this album. The cover shows you the Dark style of the bands from these days but the music stays straight edge Black Metal with some differences in the compositions but mainly we can say it will please the fans from Aeturnus and Dark Funeral. The fact that this ablum has something to give is in fact the breaks that can be found in Thrash or even simple Metal making a fresh new style, maybe we could in the new generations find a new DarkBlackThrash Metal or a Black Metal mixed with NUMetal or something that kids listen to these days. Who knows Black Metal is already so old and has nothing to bring anymore for the creation and maturity. I think only old fans will follow this style but it will probably change someday and I think this band is the first real one to go on that direction of new Black Metal for the new century!In the overall of course a great sound and great play nothing to say against those fact, a great album for the Die hard fans!!!  | Rupture Christ : "Molesting the entrails of the disemboweled " USA Porno Grind Metal band. Well what could we say about that band?! Nothing much really, the cover and title tell it all!!! The CD starts by the listening of a Porno movie so you can imagine the scene in your head if you love that kind of films... The music is pure Heavy Grind with voices you don't even think he really sing and just the stuff for the fans of that style. It's difficult to find any differences with another band from that kind.  | Honey For Christ : "Forging Iron will" . This Irish Heavy Metal band hasn't finished to surprise me, what is sure is that they are forging a strong and powerfull style that they can be proud to have constructed since their begining and which becomes stronger everytime they have a new CD. They have in fact many taste in music and so we can hear from Heavy , Thrash and now in the new CD Death metal influences!!! Like this it can sound strange but it is not at all once you have listened to this new great creation!!! The singer has the feeling and emotion in his voice and the strength and the power are into the drums ,the speed is in the guitar, as for the bass he got the groove and all of these 4 caracters give this excellent band that knows how to write good songs with the emotion needed to feel exactly what you have to when listening to a song, it grows and explode to give you that great sensation. They KICK ASSES!!! This is a band the new generation should listen to 'cos it regroups the real Metal influences mixed to please everyone. A band who could easily pass the frontier of ignorance and those fight between Metal style. This is pure Metal !!! To get into your Metal collection!!!  | Son of Nothing : UK Punk, Hard, Rock ...band. This young band made up with four differents personnalities who like different kind of music. They enjoy mixing genres and if you listen to their music you can hear a Metal song, a punk song or even a poprock one. This give you an original band who don't have limits nor specific place in the music and can please anyone. What they play is listenable by many even if some will prefer the Metal song which could make think of Machine Head's The more thing change album, others will prefer the rock pop song in the vein of Red Hot Chilli Peppers or for the punky attitude of Green Day. Well a cool band with its originallity. I think they have a good futur if they continue to create songs like this. They bring a fresh blood in the music world.  | Dust Under Dirt : USA Hard Rock / Progressive Metal band. 5 tracks each one different, I think the band wants to include all of their influences into one demo. The 70's are very present into most of the songs. Black Circle the first track starts with a Black Sabbath/ Jimi Hendrix intro, the voice remindes me 80's Roxy Music's singer Brian ferry. This put this opening track into Pop/rock music with this straight edge and cold sound we find into progressive music. Lonely nigthmare is a more active song and really want to move people's ass. My fear reminds me the rock'n roll Metallica's Fuel song.(originaly inspired by punk bands...) Ocean sounds like a song from the belgium prog band OBSIDIAN interviewed in the second mag. Ride is like a "joke" as it sounds like a cover but it's not one! once again we find this Metallica punky inspiration that has just the wish to funnily move people into fun.(reminds me Uk NEONBOMB Glam punk band interviewed in the second mag) During gigs they must have a moving pit!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Denata : Swedish Thrash Metal maniacs, for the ones who still don't know this band they sound like Whiplash first album "Power and Pain" and you have missed two albums that should be in your collection so get those ones quick. Art of the insane: this is the third masterpiece of these great Thrashers! Tomas Axe is swinging better than ever and Ponta 's screaming are replaced by Tomas himself getting crazier than ever! He even touches Death and Black Metal on some songs which will please a hell of Metal maniacs outhere. The sound is getting stronger and better but we can easilly recognise the Denata sound. The songs are pure old Thrash Metal and we will hear sometimes Kreator 's Extreme Aggression riffs. But what most surprises me is that the songs are well written and we can still appreciate the creations without thinking of a specific band. This album should definitively get them on the high step and promise to become one of next generation's favorite band. The lyrics are excellent and "The chainsaw massacre" is a baby compare to Denata's insanity!!! Get that masterpiece from ARCTIC now!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Holy Dragons : "Cymfkh ßotor" Russian Heavy Metal, as you can guess the lyrics are in Russian language except the last song which is a real dedication to the German Hard Rock band The Scorpions. This band has digged into old school Heavy Metal and you can hear it easily even though they probably would like to be categorised as Power Metal, the roots are here! Just right into the 80's! The first song sound a bit Thrashy like Metallica first debut. There is a song that sounds like a famous one as I 've heard it somewhere in English perhaps?! The language isn't a problem as the music is really taking you into cachy riffs and guitar solos melodies. Only the sound for me isn't that great as it reminds me my demos onto a 4txs with a drum machine and that's what we hear on this CD. The songs are well written and the overall is a great album but would need a propal mix into a professional recording studio with real drums of course. For the Heavy Metal fans of Scorpions, Maiden, Running wild, Gamma Ray, Iron Savior...Get it from Metalism | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Offroad : "Make it Through" Russian Aor Hard Rock band, this one is in English and really sounds like one. They could easilly be taken as an American band and should get a great popularity which seems to grow in the UK for the moment. We could also hear their songs onto teens or funny movies, a typical radio music edit. Good for the hears of everyones from the teens to people who loves rock and soft Hard Rock usually called FM. The cover and album title reminds a certain cover album from Def Leppard but musically they aren't that hard. A professionnaly recorded album nad played! This should explode the music business quite easilly. In the veins of Bon Jovi, Vixen, Aerosmith, Kiss, greatwhite, Pretty Maids,Dokken, Mama's boys, Poison, Warrant,Whitelion...and all of the bands which write love songs.  | Methusalem : "MethusaleM" Holland Heavy Metal band inspired mainly by Iron Maiden and Helloween. This band will bring you back into the real old Heavy that we used to listen to back in the 80's when we were kids. A promising band that will get a big love from all of these old Metalheads that might have forgot or left what made them what they are. And above the new Metalheads who discover Heavy Metal will be served! Well done guys. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Vicious : "Chains won't hold it back" Swedish Melodic Thrash / Death Metal band. This band got lot of power into their music giving you straight into the ears a strong music that kicks your ass with the old rythms from Thrash metal and the voice from Death Metal with a melodic approach from Heavy guitarists. This brilliant mix makes it out of the crowd and above all a great brand new band that deserve to get heard by the masses of Metalheads!!! Fortunetely they recently got signed by SoundRiot records and will get a biggest exposure. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Unchained : Swedish Heavy Metal inspired by Iron Maiden 's "Seven son album" . It's amazing how the singer sounds like Bruce Dickinson! One of the song has an effect on the voice we hear on Pop/Rap bands sometimes on the radio so they must have lot of influences other than Metal. A cool band for all the Eddie's fans this band is like a legend reborned into the underground. They just signed to SOUNDRIOT the label for very melodic Metal bands@! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Ghost Machinery : "Haunting remains " Power Metal from Finland. This is a project from Boiling Point members, the music is more into melodic ways and sounds more like Primal Fear with an Iron Maiden edge and even Dreamtheater .  | 7 Gates : "Fire walk with me" Swedish Heavy Metal at its best!!! this is the new revelation of the year and will probably win the love of every Metal maniacs! I certainly will give them the Gold Award for best album! Inspired by all the 80's Metal bands but with the new sound and their own creations, a great job and a powerfull album that will kick the history of Heavy Metal. A new bomb is born and they will show you that evolution with the old Heavy Metal receipt can still make great bands. One of the new comers bring back the real Metal to it's higher place. Their brand new album is out on Soundriot and this label knows where to find the best bands straight outo the underground. This band is beatting up the 80's band that have left Heavy Metal for the money business and they must regret when they hear this masterpiece!!! | Manigance : "Mourir en Heros" French band who sings in French, the begining of the track starts with a kinda Hard Core riff then pursue onto Heavy/Progressive Metal style. This band reminds me ADX for the lyrics and the way the singer sings. A band that searches itself but should only interest French people has this sounds typically French!!! A good band though, a shame they sing in French as it is well done and the song is really good. American music with a French singer..and musicians! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thunderstone : "Break the Emotion" Nothing much to say, an excellent Heavy / Power Metal band. Very Professionnal with catching riffs and a voice that takes you to the sky. Excellent. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Malediction : "Dans ma memoire " Another French band who sings in French but this one is Excellent and really kicks ass, a true Heavy Metal band with professionnal sound and the music is great, one of my favorite on this compilation , I give them a success garanty in the near futur!!! | Primal Fear : "Metal is forever " Nothing to say this band is well known and has been one of the first to bring true Heavy Metal back to life. Once again they prove that Metal is FOREVER!!! Excellent. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Shaman : "Ancient Winds" Live (Audio & VIdeo) A Progressive Metal band...I personnaly hate this band, I don't hear any passion nor love into this music, the drummer who is supposed to lead the music is just boring and plays the same stuff all the way through. This sounds so cold and clean, a line! nothing to lift the music exept the very short guitar solo that tells you the guitarist could make a better job into a better band. This is what I call a studio band not good for live shows at all. We can see that the singer (in the video) plays the keys and probably he should stick to it! I have the feeling this band wants just the fame and money of famous other Progressive bands I won't name but they should have more love into it! The worst is people become fans so easily of a bad copy band that means anyone can be famous by copying others even though they are bad and their intention is just to get money. I hope the guitarist will leave this s***y band to kick into a Thrashy Heavy Metal band... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Shadowlord : " Scourge of Heaven" - Nederland Black Metal band. This album is a revelation in the Black Metal world and will certainly move the masses as this is one of the best album I have heard since Urshurak (italian revelation). The difference between those two bands are the creations as Shadowlord has more feeling and melodies and Urshurak is more into aggressivity but both are for me the new Black Metal futur and this prooves once more that Underground bands are the futur!!! This album is like a receipt, take Cradle of Filfth + Dark Funeral + Dimmu Borgir + a bit of progressive and Gothic. Mix them & you will get Shadowlord!!! A beautiful masterpiece!!!  | Requiem : "Mask of damnation" Second masterpiece from this excellent band from Finland still signed on SoundRiot records. This is difficult to judge this album which is pretty similar to the first one with one exeption, the final mix is more Metal and has lost the Classical Mix we had in the first album. I hope the band will not take another direction as this second album is more into Power Metal than the first one I found so original by the classical parts and sound. They are joining bands such as Primal Fear and co. An excellent album with full of emotion and kicking rythms. A definitively professionnal band that anyone should have in his collection! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

For non French people check their site you will find interviews, underground bands links etc...a very good zine made with lots of passion from fans to fans. | Ram : Swedish Heavy Metal band. The album is out!!! produced and signed to Black Path Metal recordings. For those who have been waiting for those giant Metalheads to kick ass with their first CD it's done, at least I was waiting for it. IF you haven't heard yet about this band then it's time for you to check them out and to seriously support them as they are like a legend from Heavy Metal. A band that is totally 100% Metal and will bring you back to your old time 80's favorite Metal bands. These guys know how to make Metal and even the album is made like the old time with a simple logo on the cover, lyrics inside with a small booklet. This reminds me the early years of Metal back in early 80's when the music was more important than the cover artwork and the bands' image. This is true Metal.  | Deimos : Doom Death HeavyMetal band from Russia. WHen Scorpions meet Paradise lost, or Melodies and coldness. One of the song could be compared to Within Temptation 's Enter album but without the keyboards and harder. There is no limit for the music to be appreciated by different people.  | Obsidian: Holland Death Metal band. Their music is a mix of Morbid Angel and Messuhga. Basically they have the influences from the early 90's Death Metal scene with the sound of Fear Factory. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Heavy & Loud : French Heavy Metal band inspired by the early 80's which is so good to hear!. On the Mp3 'site (click on the cover) you will find 3 songs. The first one is a mix between Iron Maiden & Whitesnake, for the second one is a mix between Skid Row, Guns 'n Roses, Lee Aaron ...soft Hard Rock and very melodic like Saraya... Y&T...Foreigner and many others! The third one is softer much Hard Rock FM with a solo mixed from SkidRow and Satriani...The melody sounds like Skid Row's song "I remember you" but not that close! I can't find in my head the nearest band they could sound like but it's definitively good old Heavy Metal@@@ | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Reviolence : Thrash Metal band from Brasil. A very impressive band with such a talent! Their compositions are full of inspiration from 80's & 90's bands from Heavy to Thrash. You can imagine Forbidden, Kreator, Judas Priest...and many many more all compressed in one band that makes it so hard to compare them to!!!A very new and great band that will need to become one of our new Thrash Metal influence in a near futur. This band has such a potential that you can't ignore it! YOu just have to listen to it and you are transported to a very nice musical piece.  | Excalion : Once again SoundRiot has found a masterpiece!!!" Symphonic Power Metal " a talended young band from Finland that plays remarkably good. Their compositions are really well done and the singer is really good. Imagine Dimmu Borgir with a Heavy Metal and melodic voice! ( this is only for one track) You can also hear stuff like Europe, Angra, Iron Maiden, Requiem, Dio, Dream Theatre and all the melodic bands that use keyboards.For all the PowerMetal freaks!!!  | Seraphim : Taiwan Power metal band , The singer is a female who has a classical voice which makes it easy to compare to Nightwish, but that's the only point as the music is pure Metal and even Thrash Metal!!! This is where Seraphim's originality is, they could be a Thrash or Heavy Metal band but with this voice that makes it change. We're used to bands like Within Temptation who uses Death Metal voices for the sad part, but here u have the Black Metal voice that appears from time to time which make a real change in the Metal field. This band looked for the originallity in Music and they managed to get it. Songs are well worked with the lyrics and the cover artwork is excellent. A good band that might surprise most people.  | Exodus :" Tempo of the damned " USA Thrash Metal band, when a band signs to Nuclear Blast we're always waiting for a fucking powerfull album that will blow our head. Well Exodus has decided to sign with the biggest European Metal label 'cos their last album is a bomb! Although their misfortune since they exist, this is the only Thrash Metal band sticking to their roots. We can only say "Bravo" to one of the first Thrash Metal band that created this style and sticked to it over the years cos they still know how to create Thrash Metal riffs!!! This album is a masterpiece and Exodus always evolved album after album to the best. One song reminds me the English band As She Screams, some songs have synchronization problems with the drum (machine?!), they don't seem to be very good for solos as they are out of tune. Most of the songs have no solos which are better.  | Decadence : Swedish Melodic Thrash / Death Metal band fronted by a beauty. 'The grey" album is their first masterpiece, this band is really unique and very original. The melodies just bring you to a different level of the styles, Kitty 's voice is catching your soul and you can't stop listening to this band until it has ended!!! It is such a good feeling and great compositions that you will press play again and again! I normally don't like to search for any ressemblances in the music I love cos for me a good band is one that you can hear without recognizing the influences and this is why I love this band, I just relax and listen!!! For those who 'd like to know what it might sounds like... well after many hours of forcing myself listening every bits I can say they have many influences from Thrash Metal like early Holy Moses, Slayer, Kreator,Testament, Forbidden, Dark Angel and a bit of Death Metal like Morbid Angel and Massacre. I think I've heard a bit of within Temptation's riff but they have certainly Gothic influences for the melodies too!!! The most important is this is a great band!!! "The creature" 2005 (the red album) is definitively different but it's only about the production cos this band has a unique sound and creations and so they stick to Decadence!!! pretty rare for a young band, another thing that makes me love them! So this one is more Death Metal but still Thrashy with melodies. The influences here are more like Death, Paradise Lost and a bit of Dimmu Borgir for one riff...  | Vicious Rumours : "Warball" USA PowerMetal. I saw on their site they have made lots of albums in which Marty Friedman and some other great musicians have played in. So if like me you didn't know then we learnt a new thing. But thanks to my friend there was an old song on an 80's compilation and so sometimes we don't follow a band and a decade later they are still there!!! here I compare this album in a mix of Eidolon and Mercyful Fate. Only one member is left but they gained into great musicians and the new guitarist is amazing! as for the new singer too! | Sodom :Self titled . This new album is pretty desappointing which is sad to say, but the begining although the mix is good sounds much like a late slayer album. Only Tom has still his voice that tell us its SODOM. It has a bit of the "Taping the Vein" 's feel. The cover artwork is excellent but the music is like searching its way for originallity but doesn't find it. A shame but I think Tom's different project change he's music direction and you can hear in the third track which is a rock'n roll stuff with just a Metal voice. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Meldrum :"Loaded live" DVD. Home made DVDR i had trouble to read completely in my computer... I managed to see it fully in my special TV DVD player that reads most of formats! (computers are great but too many video compression exist and it's never possible to watch what you want) So after I managed to watch this DVD I was a bit desappointed cos there is no menu although it seems they try to create one as there is a square in the left corner that you press to read the video. So without menu you HAVE to watch it completely to the end every time you want to watch it so if for any reason you must stop it then you start over again. This is not a wrong point completely cos this is definitively an excellent show!!! Thank you girls! A pleasure for the eyes and for the ears!!! I have discovered another band threw this DVD cos I haven't recognized any of the songs that are on the album...I saw here a very Heavy Metal band that kicks ass when in the album there are more like cool and soft songs. I guess they wanted to impress us and they managed cos it's a kick in your face! (but is it another album not pressed yet? I'd like to know...)  | Kreator :"Enemy of god Revisited" DVD Digipack. Now this is what I call a DVD!!! Since Kreator is back to real Thrash Metal everything goes very well for them and they seem to have the best record labels each time they release something!!! This package is so beautiful that we 'd like to have more of them in our collection. I'm not a DVD fan nor a CD fan cos they mostly have a plastic box with nothing inside or twice the same photo. Here you have a brilliant digipack that has a little booklet and opens with one DVD and a CD on each side. Thus the price very cheap compare to a normal DVD!!! SO if there is a gift to offer for Xmas this is the DVD ! I must thank my friend Thrash-Vier for offering me this great pieace of collection. So inside a full complete Wacken show!!! that's what I'd like to have for every band that have performed there. A brilliant show that gives me the wish to see Kreator live again when I've been desappointed when I saw them in the Uk for their come back with the album not so good Violent revolution but here they are kicking ass and Mille is awake from his long cold passage through gothic...well he's back and nomore things about this! Kreator is the actual Thrash Metal act that seems to get the most popularity these days and they really do what it takes. In this DVD you can find a new way of learning the song, special lyrics videos a bit special but you can listen and read the lyrics in front of the computer or the TV a good imagination for the people who created this DVD and it is a reference for creation in this field, I guess the DVD and video format are going to change quickly and Kreator seem to be the first to make the move to that change!!! so congratulation. Few Video clips to keep you thirsty with the making of for the Enemy of God video a very good one actually! No really people Kreator is really back and for good! For the one who critizise the fact there is the album "Enemy of god " remastered with two live tracks then it's not necessary cos you don't have the booklet nor the cover just the CD so I think it's not fair to blam them for that!  | Flotsam & Jetsam : "Live in Japan 2006" DVD Well I haven't listened to them since Quatro the fourth album and it was a bit strange to me after all the line up and things said in every medias. So I didn't know if I would like this DVD but in fact I almost love it! Yeah I explain myself, there is a menu and so the DVD is complete the only problem and it's not a small one it is a Mono/stereo live (Stereo on one speaker) it s a pain for your ears cos you need to change the balance on your TV set but on the computer it's not that easy...so that 's really anoying cos the live is brilliant. They play most of the first albums best songs and at least one from each albums that followed. At the end there is a video clip from their last album and it kicks ass so I guess I'll buy their last effort. I can't wait to have a DVD with the early days... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Vio-lence : "Blood and Dirt" Dbl DVD 2006 Well it's a bit late but I thought I already did that review..I realized I just wrote good words in sites but not in this review section so I apology to the band. For the one who don't know Vio-lence were supposed to get a new album coming but due to some lack of real wish inside the band to continue and most to move on like Phil demmel joining Machine Head the band decided not to continue. some fans like me managed to buy their unique 7' released for the come back...you can still order from Megaforce records their albums reprinted with demos or live tracks. And so this DVD cos this is the last thing you will ever get from these thrashers. Two DVDs, one with the biography with each members talking about their stories inside the bands, many phootages and fun stuff. A great moment to get back to violence! this DVD just give you the wish to have your band and most to see them back but now we know... The second DVD is full of complete live shows mostly in the late days and the reunion show for the Thrash of the Titans. Once again it's a live I'd like to have for all the bands that performed that day cos bands like Forbidden also played but never came back...All this with a great interface and a 3D design a really great piece of collection.  | Edgeplay " a film about the runaways" 2004-2005 DVD Well many people will wonder why I review this DVD now... once again it's one I should have done when It came out. As I had computer problem it explains why I forgot some reviews and even today I haven't got internet so I can't update the site when I want to... anyway the loss of The Runaways drummer Sandy West recently just made me think of the brilliant DVD that has been so hard for each member to participate cos if for old men like me who got mad with this all female 70's teenage band their story hasn't been that easy and not that cool. This is a documentary with each members except Joan jett who never wanted to come back into her early days life which can be understood at some point but she could have participate a little bit... So it's pretty touching comments from those girls who had their life kicked and destroyed and abuse of record companies and so on... Today it's more secure (!?) but the story repeats itself with all girl bands like The Donnas and so on...I don't think they will regret that time of their life cos success not something you should regret. Playing music is the best thing on earth but of course it's not easy every day. So this is the final collectible you will have from this band, I think they have rereleased the albums on CDs once more. A great DVD for any fans and also to get into the life of this teenage rock band. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | 19.11.06 Holy Moses - No return - - Eyes of emptiness Live in Paris La Maroquinerie: (photos taken by Thrash-Vier from Cabbal prod) Holy Moses the headline of the show, came with a long wait. It's been since 1988 that Sabina didn't came to play in Paris so it was like a birthday to her as for the fans!!! It was the best gig of my life cos I was right in front of the stage between two wedges and Sab made me sing from the begining till the end of the show! She's such a great woman! the new line up was a great surprise to me and I've been really amazed 'cos the guitarist managed to play everything which normally asks two guitarists and I think for that he deserves a big whaoo!It's like watching the real Holy Moses line up with Andy on guitars. The drummer is brilliant and the bass player made it big time! Really an excellent gig after all these years. Sabina and her musicians are really kicking ass and it's amazing to see them performing so good. With Kreator and Destruction I think they are the bands that really love their music to the tips of their fingers cos they are really good live acts. Anyway they performed almost two songs from each albums and it has been a real explosion, I thought it wouldn't last but everything has an end...the people who discovered them this night will become fans without a trouble. The concert ended with the actual Holy Moses Hyms "too drunk to fuck" with special guest such as The Witches singer (french female Thrash metal band) and a drummer whom I don't know the name... so really for anyone it has been a night to remember and Sabina makes things great cos if she ask any time someone from the country to play with the band this far more than the average band and she gives back to her fans without problem, we all ended up singing this Hymn on stage!!! then the fact the place is a small an friendly area made possible to talk to the band and have some autographs!!! Last time I saw them was for their second album "contamination rises" tour in Ornano Paris where they played with Coroner and just after the singer left the band...Since then I haven't really followed their carreer as I didn't like the new singer. Obviously they had many line up changes and so this night was a new singer from what I've been told...They really kicked the place compare to the first bands and they started to burn the fire which is something I always wait when I see live bands, if no bands fires me up then I hate the night but here fortunetly they burnt out everything and the musicians were brilliant! they played few old materials and the new ones. This is the kind of band I prefer live, they really gives a power and fresh spirit you can't hear in the albums.  | When we arrived a band was already on stage, Eyes of emptiness a grind band. this is not my cup of tea but unfortunetly in those band you find good musicians which is a waste as the music sucks. (if u can hear music in a noise...) Nothing nor anyone was moving and the guys looked already drunk from what we could see. The guitarist had a great play and interesting but the voice (grrrrr) should have been cut off to help me appreciate the musicians...the stage crew asked them to stop cos here in France obviously noone is like in the Uk where they love that kind of shit. Then when you haven't got a crowd and a big headline is here underground bands like that have no chance!!! Then another shity band came in and I really thought I would have a bad night... I forgot their name which sounded like a Sepultura song, their music was kinda progressive with noise... I couldn't understand what they were playing and the singer was yelling like vomit in the mic, they had their own crowd brought from their pocket... thye were acting like big stars!  | Jaded : USA all female Rock/Hard Rock band. Back in the early eighties when rock became Hard Rock for the outfits and attitude. Reminds me Ratt, Dokken, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, No Shame, Bon Jovi, Scorpions and even some 70's bands but the list will be too long... could also be easily categorized as an 1988 Vixen's style but they have something more -A John Conely riff!. What is sure the guitarist Britt is an excellent one and kicks the ass of many good Guitar heroes!!! She's been learning Eddie Van Halen and has a very good style. I think she's the main driving member and will lead the band to high standards Heavy Metal bands. they already have played with Wasp, George Lynch and many known acts. So there is no question this band will make a big noise in the music!!! We are again in the era of late 80's with all female bands kicking the males butt wish them to stay long as they deserve it!!!  | Crucifeid Barbara : "Losing the game" MCD 3 Songs on this Promo CD with two versions of the titled track : 'Edit' (radio,video...) and the normal version found on the album. 'Killed by Death' Motorhead cover pretty well done the CB way kinda Thrashy! (I'm sorry but I love this version not much the real one... never been a Motorhead fan) I'd love to have this before the album but now I got it for my collection as for the next "`Rock'n Roll bachelor" MCD the first time I have a promo CD with one song! And "Play me Hard" MCD this one has two songs and one Video, Play me Hard normal version and Accoustic one! pretty nice! Very different than the real CB style cos here it is more like Vixen or Ratt soft Hard Rock!!! Actually the video is twice on the CD one high Quality and one Low Quality in Quicktime format. I don't know if you're supposed to spread it on the internet cos the low resolution is normally made for that purpose so it's your choice. The album "In distortion we trust" reviewed a bit higher on the review page is out on the 12" LP Pic Disc so I have one in my collection too! Get it before it becomes a rarety... "In distortion we trust" Special Edition CD+DVD is a great masterpiece, like the Kreator one it has the full album with three more songs ("My heart is Black" accoustic version, "Killed by death" both on the promo CDs and "Shout it out" which is on any other format) the booklet as two more photos and of course the DVD details. So a lot will critizise this new product but I guess records companies haven't got access yet to the big software that make DVDs with the music on it... then if u don't have the album yet its not that bad cos here u got it for a cool price!!! Well the DVD is in excellent quality and is more than worthy! You are in the CB live tour and it's great cos you come to know them a bit and you realize from the beginning they are excellent musicians capable of playing and singing classical music and are not the stupid girls some might think... I watched this DVD and wanted to play it again cos they are really cool and it's a pleasure to be with them on tour, they have added some part of the French show (I missed sadly) and so you can see how much they love what they do and are so natural!!! How can't you be fan of those crazy young little talended girls? huh!? It's amazing how they became in a short time stars, it's like watching the first Metallica shows! For the others it's again the album with a DVD. The album is a mix of Thrash Metal riffs with two male singers, one is more into Death row vocals when the other is more melodic Thrash/Heavy metal giving this band and originallity and sound that noone has. The influences here are Sepultura, Nailbomb, Testament, Forbidden (tiny), Death (tiny) Holy Moses recent albums, Machine Head (early) Early Obituary heaviness, ,,, and many others! This album has lots of known talents such as Sabina, Waters, and many others. It will please all Thrash Metal maniacs as Death Metallers and there is also a funny Grinding song!!! Well so any Metal maniacs will find something in this album to their taste, the best is still the DVD with the complete set for the Wacken Open Air "Battle of the band" won by Reckless Tide of course! This is an extra good package with small interview of the members about this experience.  | Laaz Rockit : "Live untold" DVD, another Thrash Metal legends from San Fransisco, this masterpiece is one to have in your collection!!! I must say I was so exited to get it that my desappointement was big! yeah I mean it is hard to make a DVD for those legends but video editing is the thing that makes it good or not, like the sound on a CD! What I really don't like is the video Editing and I'm sorry to say cos the DVD starts a bit long after 10 long minutes of nothing but lots of quick shots and some guys going into the rehearsal room...then when the music starts it is cut every minutes by interviews!!! man why haven't u played the whole set? there's nothing to take the song starts and cut...Also something I hate that everyone is doing now on DVDs they record in Black!!! hey we have color on TV for a long time stop that stupid black&White shit, comeon this is not a game pressing a button it's a legendary DVD!!! the same appeal to Vio-lence!!! Well u're gonna think I don't like that DVD but no it's just that people always fuck the work! it's like on VHS tapes, you always have a short phootage in the middle that fuks the whole concert! man this is for collection! Anyway it just drives me mad to see that the men behind the video editing are not good enough after the technology advances. The good thing of the DVD is the length but not only cos the guys! hey man it's fukin' Laaz Rockit!!!! those guys kicks ass!!! three hours of concert!!! Ok again the video editor has chosen to split three concerts into one so you have a song in Japan 2006, Holland 2005, Holland 1988...a whole mess! but at the end I was happy cos I was fukin stuck onto my sofa looking those fingers and those guys playing and moving like kids!!! I'm sorry but hey like Vio-lence those guys are real Thrashers! not like some who have never stopped playing and are so damn boring and tired like old men...this is worth buy whatever the result but I'm too much concerned about video editing, I know how hard it is to get one! ...  | Moment Of Violence : "Lofat" Hardcore band from the states. This pretty tells it all!!! They had the idea to change their name before the release of the CD and it was a good idea, when listening to the music I can agree people who will like this album will obviously like extreme music and so the "hardcore" title isn't really right except for the vocals but musically it has many influences from Thrash to Death to Grind... the cover shows it quite well even though it is hard to understand what it supposed to be... a chainsaw breaking into a hand or a feet... not sure but everything is made to be on that extreme Metal music lead by a 7th strings female. Influences are very spread into a wide range of Metal styles : Slayer, Pantera, Machine Head, Black Sabbath or Red Hot chilli pepper!! Deicide, Napalm Death, .... lots of brutal and Thrash influences! This is LO fukin' FAT sound with very dark lyrics. This band has won several awards and got the chance to promote themselves playing with Motley Crue and getting overwhelmed by fans!  | Vainglory :self titled album, this great new band is fronted by the lady killer Kate French who sang on David T-Chastain's album during the mid nighties with an excellent album called Dementia for those who know it. So here she comes with this time a big explosion! Vainglory can be easilly categorized as Thrash Metal and regroup lots of influences from the eighties as nineties big bands such as Testament, Megadeth, Laaz Rockit , Grip Inc, Pantera, Machine Head and certainly many others. Also we can hear some seventies influences from the mighty Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix mixed with some excellent solos influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen and groove from BLS... well if this isn't enough for you to give them a listen and buy their album what better do u need?! This CD is a special edition with a cover poster and their brilliant Video available on their myspace website to watch.  | The Donnas : "Donnas Desert Moon" live show recorded in 2005 and released here as a bootleg for all the fan made by the fans!!! (reminds me somethin....Cliff'em all...) Well this one is a TRUE fan made DVD and this what makes it much better and different. Those girls are young and so as us big fans from the Heavy Metal and punk bands of the seventies/eighties and so they are living their dream as we all want and make sure to give their fans the best!!! I just love those girls for their rockin' attitude but devotion to the music and recognition from the fan and they give us back a lot so a big thank you to you girls for that. This DVD is a great opportunity for those who don't have the chance to see them live and we can say some had great video camera making this a real treasure for your collection! 135 minutes of pure happiness covering all of their best songs from each of their albums! some extras with photos and songs from the band playing on that night, and a kinda soundcheck vid as also some songs with bad sound or video quality but the girls wanted to please everyone who recorded that show and it's fair enough done!  | Hydrogyn : "Best served with volume" 2004, for those who never heard of this CD before well let me know you missed something! You'll see that uper I have reviewed their last effort Bombshell which is a masterpiece on its own and gained them a wide audience in the music industry. Since I became a fan and friend with those lads following my live interview you can see on the 4th issue mag interview page, and got hold of this the same day I had to review it. If the sound is not professional mixed it doesn't mean this 'demo' as the band call it, has not a precious sound! If I had this CD when It came out I would certainly make a very good review and review the last one with less wonderings... This band plays Hard Rock with a sound from the nineties which give them a special original sound. The songs are originals in a way cos some have two vocals but it has nothing to do with the new bands we hear these days no here it's like the eighties bands where the bass player ad his voice to give a different sound for emotions or just like a soul who explains the thought of the lyrics... a bit like with Wasp on the Headless album where the guy speaks with the drug but here it's less a speach,but a small touch that gives Hydrogyn their style. So these two voices ,oh sorry I forgot this band is fronted by a female (the one on the cover) , makes me love those songs which are one of the best of the album like "Big Star" which they still play live and "what I want" could be made as singles cos they are really well done. To come back about the sound I would say it was a very good first album! What's nice here is they have several songs we can hear on their new album with some differences in the making cos of course sound evolve and some songs can have slight changes to give them a better sound. The song "the sand " for exemple is better now on their Bombshell CD but was already good here they just made it bigger and better to become one of their best songs today. It's like they shouldn't have made Best served and wait to get Bombshell done cos they have grown up and their sound had matured so there 's no doubt why they're becoming big today! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Dead to Sin / Stillborn : Split CD Thrash- Death Metal from UK. First I must say I'm surprised by how some bands support each others and make everything possible to get the underground going. If musically those bands have nothing very original to me I will give them an award for the originality of their CD which looks like a 7' Lp! and the dedication they bring with their label making this CD hoping the sells will help them getting enough money to release another one!!! well done guys. Dead To Sin has a very Heavy sound with Thrashy rythms but with a growling voice in the Death way and an industrial style. Stillborn has also a Thrash influence very inspired by Slayer , Venom and Death Metal in general. If like me you want to support those bands buy this CD it's cheap and help supporting young bands.  | Bill Lonero :" Slather " & "Restless" Instrumental USA. I got both albums at once, (check out their myspace site to get hold on these masterpieces for reasonable price) the first is from 2005 and self made with an original carton package very light and good for the environement. You can find some great musicians such as stuart hamm .For the music it makes me think of Satriani's "the extremist" album, it has all this groove with some jazzy and salsa songs with the simple Wah-Wah effect! It has everything for you to love, anyone can be addicted by LoNero! this guy is amazing it has his own style mixed up with the technics and abilities of the best guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Santana...etc.. The last album is much more complete and it seems like there is a band although some songs don't have the same musicians, LoNero seems to get luck playing with great musicians for his own albums!!! The great thing about this guitarist is the fact his music is relaxing! This is the new Satriani but with a different touch, less big solos but still a great emotion and such a pleasure to listen to. I'll give him an award for beeing a great guitarist with nice compositions, follow him!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Pitfull Reign : Uk Thrash Metal, if their logo (not on this CD) looks like Brutal Death Grind it has absolutely nothing to do with the type of Metal they do. Once you pressed play you get back to early eighties with a slight early nineties Thrash Metal from the sound to the compositions, a real pleasure to listen to as you'll hear many inspirations from the legends Vio-lence, Dark Angel, Anthrax, Suicidal tendencies, Toranaga, Onslaught , Death Angel, Evil Dead etc... their music is excellent ! Pretty sure these lads will kick ass in the Thrash world! The solos are not breathless but well constructed and this is enough to get a great experience and live it must be a fukin' Moshing pit destroying venues such it moves your ass! I'll give them an award for best promising UK Thrash Metal act for 2007!!! Any Thrashers should get this masterpiece first for the music and support this great band then cos the cover is made in the old school way with lots of phootages and most one very extremely rare - the ass pictured from one of the guys! The music has some heavy influences such as Mercyful fate mixed up with Thrashy rythms and very shark vocals. Freevil seems to have invented a new Metal sound but for sure they already gained lots of succes with their album and no doubt they got the love from fans!It is a lot of fun with great compositions, remember the DeathTrain?@#! well this is the next level! you're not ready to get off this train cos madness has no ending and these guys will get your soul!  | X-tinxion : Holland Thrash Metal band. This excellent quintet is fronted by a female who got gutts, first I haven't recognized she is a singer but now I know it that makes a difference. One of the best demo I've heard for long, the sound is excellent and the compositions are explosives. A mix of old Thrash and new one with a bit of early Death Metal.  | Maxine : "Titania" US Hard Rock. First I must say I'm very pleased to hear the beautiful and sexy voice of this amazing musician and singer. This is an excellent album in which Maxine plays Bass as Guitar and sing, most drums are done by Roxy. Her brother plays bass on one track and some guest such as Billy Sheehan and Mike Pisculli play the bass too. She is an extreme very good guitarist as singer!!!The mix is perfect and you fell in love with that album and you just want this band to pursue and play live cos it's worth!!! The influences is wide (Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Vixen...) but the best is still buying this album and listen it loud!!!  | Meldrum : "Blowin'up the Machine" Heavy Metal band from USA. This new album took a while to appear and since the DVD I wondered what it would sound like. This is much Heavier as the first album for sure and I was right when watching the DVD this band has taken a step further, Gene Hoglan is playing the drums on some songs, but most of them are played by Linda McDonald!!! Obviously there is not only the sound that has changed... somethin' I haven't heard for a while is a song featuring mister Lemmy Kilmister! This album sounds much like a fun between friends and I think Meldrum as taken a turn. THe sound is heavier and some song sound Hardcore and close to Pantera more than the first Meldrum album although the touch is still here and Michelle's solos can't be copied!!!  | Detente : "Recognize no Authority" USA Thrash Metal. First I bought this CD cos there was a chance to get it signed by the band but with desappointement it wasn't . I have the original LP in my collection so that was really for the autograph since this will never happen again. For the one who don't know it yet, this band was one of the great bands in the Thrash bay area but never made it. They played with the bigs such as Dark Angel, Metallica, Slayer and else and no doubt they have those influences. This is pure 1986 Thrash Metal and it kicks most when you know Dawn was with Sabina the second only female singer in a Thrash Metal band at this time. They have only few Thrash passages but I guess each of the guys have their own influences giving a special touch to this band's musical inspirations. The girls are back!!! yeah this is good, after their last album Gold Medal which was too commercial and melting (Atlantic sound) I wondered what these rockin ladies would bring us and I'm more than Happy!!! first they have created their record label!!! Secondly even if they were born in the eighties they like me are into real music stuff such as LPs!!! yeah!!! THANK U!!! A double LP with a very eighties excellent painted cover artwork man I'm in Heaven! Thirstly their songs, this is true Donnas creations as it used to be a mix of 70/80's Rock, Hard Rock, Punk which has always been their sound!!! The Donnas are back yeah kick those fukin arse dudettes ;) and they will crack the billboard once again!!! For the ones who hesitate find great songs inspired by Joan Jett, The Scorpions or even Van Halen!!! really I love those girls!!! and of course the usual cover from a band I won't name but the donnas are just fun , they live breath and smell music and that's what matters! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

This is a cool band with a unique sound and special compositions.  | Nightmare : "Genetic Disorder" Heavy Metal from France. WOW!!! this is my first expression when listening to the first songs! A powerfull sound you normally hear from German or Norwegian bands, this is perfect! So perfect it doesn't help me to review it! This is by far the best French Heavy Metal band of all times since they don't sound like a French band at all...but for sure this shows that French bands can find out the way to kick ass in the Metal world!!! Their music will please everybody cos they have influences from diverse Metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Arch enemy, Agent Steel, Iced earth, Grip Inc, Symphony X, Dio, Victory,Megadeth, Seven gates, Running Wild and so on. They have for sure the sound of today's powerfull bands and you just want to see them live cos this gonna rip u off and you will beg for more! It sounds also like Overkill or Megadeth late years...or Meliah Rage. Cool compositions with nice rythms and melodies, this is not a super production and this is great!!! this is true underground band with true sound! A good album to please everyone! Some songs have the real Thrash Metal attack like Atrophy or Testament and a bit of Slayer so it moves towards the album and keep your attention through the listening.  | Cydocore : "Envenom" Thrash/Death Metal from Croacia. Very inspired by Obituary, this band has a good vibe with slow tempo and heavy riffs! I can hear a bit of Pestilence, Massacre and some Thrash metal tunes tuned down and slowed making it sounding different (Machine Head - Burn, Exodus - Tempo, Testament - Low..) But the true thing is listening to this great album with the idea of a good band!  | Toxik : "World Circus tour 1988 - Dynamo Open Air" DVD Holland 2008. I was on ebay when suddenly I had this idea to look for The open Air festival thinking I might find a Thrash Metal gig, when I came to this DVD! I couldn't believe it after so many years one of the 80's Thrash Metal legends has a DVD, I bought it straight away. This is what every fans should have in thier collection. Since I asked the band about it and nothing is legally determined I will advise you to chase the net for this ... This is pure hasard I got it and I'm so pleased although this is not special. I mean the DVD itself has nothing really big. The cover is from the first LP with just as you can see the Dynamo and tour written on it, the inside cover is like the flyer that was at that time of the show and the advert from Roadrunner when the album came out. As for the content it has two shows. The first one beeing the actual Dynamo open air gig which starts straight away in the middle of a song! and the second is like a pirate/bootleg live (bad sound etc...) the real fan home made video...the backside of the DVD has the title tracks with some mistakes( eg the scorpion song has the Black Sabbath 's title...) so it makes this DVD much more a fan made than professionnaly one!!! But since I found it on Ebay that makes sense. Two versions exist, one with the first live on CD and this one just a DVD which is enough to me. Good fishing ;) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Original Overkill 's drummer member tells us all about his life in the music industry and how he made his band becoming the big one we all know today. That might sound obvious but after I watched it I just wanted to get back and watch it all over again!! this is entertaining and most it brings you back to our youth (mine for sure) and you will learn things you never heard of!!! This will teach you how you should act to become a rockstar and what might happen to you once you became one! for sure this is true passion and really this is what you feel all away that video. When I heard about the release of that compilation I thought 'man I gotta have this in my record collection'!!! This reminds me my youth, the early eighties with all these compilations that came from the young labels Metal Blades, RoadRunner and else. Those compilations that helped us discover Thrash Metal bands such as Metallica, Dark Angel, Sodom and many that are legends today. So this compilation might be the one to help you discover the Thrash legends of tomorrow!!!! This is why it is so important to buy it. Earache had the best idea that could come this year. So many great bands are promoting for Free themselves on the internet website Myspace, another great invention that helps people getting heard and signed for some cos on this compilation you will find some lucky bastards who got contacted by Earache and got a contract!!! so I guess many of them here will find a label and will conquer your heart if not the Thrash Metal world in the futur months. what's more is with the free fanzine a great advertising space where each band got 4 to 5 questions and a link to their page!!! everything is brought to you on one release!!! this is killer, the idea by itself, the bands music, the fact Thrash Metal is back.  | Witches : "III II" Thrash Metal band from france - Around www. This is an excellent album and I'll give an award 2008 cos it's worth it!!! After so many years and line up troubles Sybille is back with power and great songs. This album can be called original first cos the lyrics for some songs are in French!!! yeah but don't worry if u don't understand cos it's sounds good, (the first time I like this language in a Thrash Metal album.) In fact there is a life, a story an atmosphere very special in this album, goes from quite to speed and classic with funny lyrics about cats Witches Evil thoughts or legends. It's enjoyable but in a mystic & Occult era (First Black Sabbath album & Opera IX second one). This a great Thrash Metal band in the vein of Holy Moses, Assassin, Slayer... excellent is the word!!!  | Seventh Calling : Heavy /Thrash Metal from USA - Melissa records. This band has been running for years! That probably explains the songs influences and creations. This is a great Heavy Metal band for sure but with loads of Thrash Metal influences. I think the musicians have been influenced by many Metal bands in the eighties and went Heavier with time. The only problem I have here which really is not cool, the mix! I don't like the final mix sorry. The voice is too deep compare to the guitars that are really present so it sounds like a live album with the singer not very much put into the front... also the first 6 songs sound like Mp3 tracks and the rest has a different mix more powerfull so is it the pressing or the fact the band has recorded those songs through time?! by the way now we're in 2008 two years after they 've been signed and so one member is gone. I bought this album cos I saw a live video on their myspace page and I really loved it, but as we know (in my case) when I love a band live I can't love the album anylonger...I imagine they really kick ass on stage but passing that point this is a great band with great compositions so don't get scared by what I say I just describe what I feel about the sound. They have influences from Dark Angel, Meliah Rage, Metallica, Anthrax, Helloween, Mercyfull fate, Dementia, Testament, Judas Priest, Flotsam & Jetsam,Megadeth...... just listen by yourself and enjoy those great songs such as "Dark Angel" , "Faces of Deception" "Mercyless" etc. Award 2008!!! get that album !!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
 | Triton Enigma : "Black lies" Death/Black Metal band from Sweden. This album has been released by an American label Open Grave and this is good thing, but it has the quality of the production from great labels such as Nuclear Blast. This album is excellent for the fans of extreme music, the sound and compositions very inspired by Norway and Swedish Death n Black metal bands (Dimmu Borgir, Dark Funeral, Unleashed...) with of course US Death Metal legends. (Morbid Angel, Deicide, Cannibal corpse...) Even if KItty from Decadence sings and wrote all the lyrics there is only one song with Melodies that reminds her band but apart from that she sings differently n is close to Black Metal voices with very angry lyrics, man this girl has lots of thing to say! If u haven't seen the advert yet from the label on the net well the two other musicians come from known bands Grave/Centinex and another they made together previously.  | Exodus : Double Live Dynamo '85 - '97" DVD digipack 2008. In memory of Paul Ballof this dvd is for all the fans outhere of old Thrash Metal that left a trace on this world. The first show from 1985 is filmed like the Toxic one probably by the same people earlier! but it is good and you take a good slap back at those crazy thrashers. The second live is very professionally filmed and edited. I wonder why it didn't came out earlier as when the CD came I listened to it so much! now I can finally see the show!!! This was like a reunion show with a new bass player and a Gary Holt looking like a nurapmetal freak (can't believe it he looks like shit) fortunetly hte sound is great and with many cameras it makes it awesome.  | Sodom : "Lords of depravity part 1" DVD 2005. I know many of you have already this but I just got it cos I missed many DVDs so I try to get them as possible (haven't found the first Kreator one though) any thrasher should have this too! THe live DVD is made with many lives from 2001-2003- 2004 etc and tour footages. A great adventure with old songs revisited. Very powerfull and we can say that Sodom has passsed the years and still very strong!!! They fukin thrash.The video editing is great and kicks ass. The first DVD is the best history documentatry I ever seen for a band!!!! Tom is talking about the band from the begining with interviews from old members and phootages as live exerts. the only problem is in German language so you need to use the subtitle in english and it takes time to read it and sometimes it's not good but it's so good to live through this german band that has passed many years and is so strong in the Thrash Metal scene.
